Synopsis:
After being bullied by the neighborhood kids and his demanding father, 12-year-old Danny decides he will climb the 203-foot radio tower--due to be demolished--in order to prove his mettle. Several previous attempts to climb the tower have resulted in serious accidents. Danny finds an ally in the hard drinking an ill-tempered Mr. Langer who helps him construct a pully system with ropes, rocks, and a parachute. Danny gets closer to the top that any of his adversaries but his pully system falters, causing his dad to come to his rescue and to subsequently redeem himself in his son's eyes.
